About CBWatts

When I was in the sixth grade I got a Polaroid camera for Christmas. I loved the instant gratification of seeing an image in just 60 seconds. Soon, however, I was not content following the rules and I started playing with the development time and pushing the limits on exposure. Then I wanted a new camera. At sixteen I bought my first 35mm SLR. It was magic. My parents gave me the Time Life photography series and I read them from cover to cover - that was my training.

Over the years a theme has emerged in my work that emphasizes landscapes and botanicals. In 2004, I entered the digital age and began playing with Photoshop to change exposures, add texture and depth, or combine images. Photography allows me to share the way I see the world. Sometimes that means getting extremely close to the subject and other times it is taking the broad view.

I hope my images are more than just pretty pictures, but if they are not, that’s okay, too, because I have had the pleasure of capturing them.
